Is there a dll for anti-aliasing? If not, could someone possibly make one (is it possible to make one?) Only asking, because it improves the look of things alot, though would cause some slow down I imagine.

It would probably require that the DLL takes image handling in it's own hands. In which event, the person who makes this DLL would also have to code everything else about images.
Just wait for the next version of GM. It will have an option to anti-alias.

indeed gm6 will be able to handle anti-aliasing . is aliasing the problem with the graphics for when you move and it kinda gets choppy?

No, aliasing is the problem where the image looks pixelated (from scaling). Anti-aliasing fades the edges of enlarged pixels to match the pixels around them, in an attempt to make the image more realistic and less pixelated. It's kinda a step towards images that are able to scale and still look like the picture is supposed to be. If you want true scale-fill in, there's expensive software that crime labs use when examining photos.
That's my view on it at least, it's what I have figured out over experience. I may be wrong.

so it kinda adds a pixel that blends in with the other pixels

Well, the scaleing part I didn't think about. To see what I meant, in PSP (7 or higher I think) draw a circle with the anti-alias option on, and one without. It adds pixels to the edges so that things 'blend' nicely, esp when overlapping. This is done in flash-animations. Thanks for the heads up on GM 6, didn't know it would handle it; however, I bet it will really slow things down, sort of like alpha-transparency does (maybe even worse).

Actually, he's using a new 3-d system (and totally recoding GM) so there is no drawing slowdown. www.gamemaker.nl/gm6.htmlon there, you'll see a few screenshots. click on one of them (whichever you think would be slowest), and download it. When download completes, (unzip if necessary and) run it. The only slowdown will be because of the massive number of objects in the room. Please note, that although he is recode GM with a 3-d system, that doesn't mean that GM will now have simple 3-d capabilities. It will only offer some of the graphical abilities of a 3-d system. GM will still be intended for 2d games. You will notice, however, that 3-d systems made in GM6 will run much faster.

What is gonna suck about gm6 is it's gonna be like a whole new game maker ( well not all new ) and obviously he'll still have to fix some bugs in the early versions none the less i am still gonna use it

Mark said the interface will (unfortunately) look the same, other than of course a few small new features especially dealing with sprites and views, and a few functions removed.
The worst part is that 5.3(a) and 6.0 are not compatable. He will make a compatability program, but we'll have to fix a lot of stuff because of all the stuff he had to remove/rename/recreate/create.
Now let's keep this topic back on the subject it was meant to be. If you want to talk about 6.0, start a new topic in the General RPG boards, and I'll put a note in it that I am allowing it.
Some graphics cards automatically anti-alias stuff for you. Mine does. I have a NVidia GeForce FX 5200
