hey I am making a rpg right now and I wanted to know how I could make enemies attack and walk I got the sprites and the ideas but I dont know how I have a system now like this my enemie walks the same always and after 3 seconds he cheks if my main cahr is getting near him if so he will shoot a rock the rock will go to main char.x and y well this is ok but it is easy to defeat him and in a long rpg you will find this boring and easier can sumone help me out with a better idea tnx allot bye bye

ow sorry for the bump but this is posted 3 sec after so it wont matter my main char uses arrows now so it is like a dodge and shoot game and this is not like a rpg I would like a battle system that would be amazing but its realy hard I like to have swords but I dont know how to do this either help me out here you guys please

when you say it's too easy to defeat him, do you mean after 1 hit he dies? in this case, use an hp variable. set it to like 4 or something each time an arrow hits, decrease it by 1. when it 0 or below, then he dies.
If it's not like an RPG then why are you posting in the RPG boards?
To have swords, you could make it so if his sprite is attack, then he damages anything he touches. otherwise, he gets hurt. this is one of many ways to get this achieved.

i think what he means is that the enemy is so predictable that it is easy to defeat him because every time he does something its not random, the smae thing happens every time, so you now whats going to happen and you waste the AI.
