Hi IsmAvatar,
There's some concern (among the moderators) that this program violates the GM 7 EULA.
Frankly, I'm not sure if it does or not. But I'm going to set your post invisible until I determine whether YYG is concerned about it or not.
No big deal -- just want to be sure.

Take a look at LateralGM, a program with no affiliation with GameMaker whatsoever besides supporting its file format. It is able to read your GM7 file (gmk) and convert it to GM6

We've been over this before with the GM6 license, and no problem was found, with consent from Mark Overmars himself. I can still quote the conclusion if you have forgotten. At that time I had also clearly stated my intentions within several easily accessible documents, and so far the program has met my intentions without exceeding or leaving them.
The concern with the GM7 license rests primarily with 2 articles.
1.2. You must not:
modify, adapt, merge, translate, decompile, disassemble, decompile or reverse engineer or create derivative works out of the Software except where applicable law expressly requires otherwise in which case all and any modifications, adaptations or improvements and all Intellectual Property Rights in them shall belong to, vest in and be the exclusive property of YoYo Games on creation but subject to licence granted at clause 1.1 above;

Our program does not alter or otherwise tamper with "the Software" (herein defined as the GameMaker program) in any way. We are only a derivative work insofar as OpenOffice is a derivative work of MS Office, if not even less so.
1.2. You must not:
remove, disable, modify, add to or tamper with any program code or data, copyright, trademark or other proprietary notices and legends contained within the object (compiled) code of the Software. You are not allowed to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the program.

Thus the primary concern of Yoyo should be that they are bloating their game files and making them take longer to open with their new encryption scheme, and aside from that, no purpose is met - unless their purpose was to disadvantage its users.
Now don't get me wrong, I greatly respect Dr. Overmars and now his team called YoYo Games. They are doing an excellent job to further the cause of his software and empowering indie game programmers, and I greatly look forward to what all they have in store, just as I am impressed with what all they have already done. I just feel (with the following of several other individuals) that there are certain inadequacies in the interface which are not going to be met by their team, and I know it sounds harsh, but Mark and YYG can clearly see these inadequacies and they must be addressed - if not by Yoyo, by someone else. So we have taken it upon ourselves to assist in addressing these inadequacies in the only way that is permissible - with a 3rd party alternative IDE. When used alone, it can meet no ends, but when used in cooperation with GameMaker, it is an extremely powerful tool. And that's what I'd like to emphasize. We are at full cooperation with GameMaker in hopes to make it a better program. By turning this into a black market, they can only disadvantage themselves.
With best regards, and apologies for if I've made too many "plugs" throughout the GMC regarding our program. I'll definately tone it down if it's overbearing, I just kept running across posts where valid concerns were being expressed of certain inadequacies which GM does not meet but LGM does, so I figured I'd offer a helping hand.

Here's what you sent me earlier today (for your archive).
Frankly, your explanation sounds quite reasonable to me -- the primary point being that you aren't modifying the "software" described in the EULA, but only the user-generated part.
I've PM'd YoYo about this again... but it's unlikely they'll reply anytime soon. They operate on geological time. So if the GMC admins are OK with this, I'll re-instate your post and we can move on.
