A'ight, I have Mandrake Linux (idk the version, I believe it was the last one before it became Mandriva), and the guy who set it up for me forgot to install GCC. So I use packages whenever I can get them, but...once I've installed an application via packages, how do I execute it? Where do I go? Yeah, I'm somewhat of a Linux n00b, ~takua108

normally packages ask you where you want to install it to. Wherever you specify, just go there and open whatever looks like an executable/program, prolly with a fancy icon and all.
Mine doesn't have GCC either, which is a pain in the arse, because you more or less need gcc in order to install GCC.
