Hey all, I'm JC an RPG judge for the official GM competition. Just wondering if anyone is planning on making any 3d RPGs for the competition, it would be a sight that i would marvel at and say "wow" and if it is alone and well done it would probably win. Just a humble awesome suggestion for those of you that want to create an unforgetable GM gameplay experience to the judges that mark you . -JC

I was planning to, only I had a few small problems
1) I'm still learning 3D, so next on my list is Jumping/Gravity, and uneven terrain (that's the tricky part). 2) I'm no good at graphics, let alone 3d Modeling, lol. 3) Haven't even started to explore 3-d sounds yet.

we could put together a team to make one maby, i mean its a bit of big task for one or two people but if we got atleast five we might manage, what do you say?

the competition isn't exactly looking for team-made games, I don't think. It's only offering 1 key.
Or am I mistaken?
Doesn't really matter to me, I already have a key. I'd just have Mark give it to someone else for me.
I'd love to have a team, this will be really hard trying to do it alone.

This topic is for discussion of the competition. Other discussions (such as the creation of teams) should be held in a different topic meant for such.
I will start a topic in a few days to see how many people are interested in joining a team for making a 3d RPG.

Read the other topic- and there are alot of suggestions about how you could help as an unregistered user.

Well, if you're already registered, and able to use the 3D functions, you'd most likely donate the key to someone else. Or you could aid someone who already is registered, and then you'd get the key if you're unresgistered..

i am a registered user of game maker and i soon started a rpg(http://forums.gamemaker.nl/index.php?showtopic=100478&hl=) but decided to make it 3d. I made a obj to gml converter that works pretty fine (still has bugs) and found out that objs are not animated so now i'm trying to find out how to make a 3ds converter that supports animated meshes so a really cool rpg could be done, but the 3ds file is pretty complicated. If anyone can post a piece of code at least for how to read a 3ds i would be grateful. I can do it from there on! P.S. nice forum. I just signed up 5 mins ago EDIT: i can handle pretty good 3d modeling and i also make pretty good graphics
