dos uses the RECOVER command to recover all remaining data from a file, and tosses all the rest. XP makes a backup of your hard drive, that you can recover in case of a crash. Most programs I know of have a special format feature that prevents the data from being lost during/after a system crash. But that's a prior type of thing.
I doubt you're going to come across much. All I can say is you should have made backups.

sorry about posting here but it's soooooooo quiet, i don't mean to sound mean, but this project of ours is going slooowwwwwwwww, i wish there was some way we could just get together and discuss this for like atleast an hour instead of just giving small pieces of our mind almost everyday, why can't we all meet and talk to eachother on the messenger and just add what we talked about later, what time would be alright for everyone? if anyone wants to i'll be on whole day, by the way just a warning to everyone, i'm usually quiet but when i get comfortable i could annoy you to death, and usually i end up pissing people off and making them hate me for stupic immature reasons.....so......yeah......see you later

All the older users seemed to pipe up and then left. Then came a second wave of people who are now somewhat more active. Then there's the people who are only somewhat active, who you can never really figure out, but it seems like they followed the same pattern. I'm not sure when this transition occured, but it was pretty odd.
The last wave (if I can call them that) decided to fix the silence by advertising. I guess the second wave is a result of the advertising.
I guess just keep advertising: put the board's logo in your sig on the GMC, and if you see an RPG question, [answer it and] point the person in this direction.
As for mIRC, i'll work on making a channel for us, so we can chat when need be.

IRC is fuuunnnn, just ask one of the people that currently have a server if we can set up a channel there such as dynasty.net, though I do not know what the point of an IRC channel is since rarely anyone from a small community get on those.

yeah, we'll never be all on at the same time either, so we should all schedule a perfect time.
