Ok, I have BB now, so we can make a RPGBoard Companion site.

I think hamalnamal wants to be involved with this, as he has trold me some of his ideas.

I think that if we band together, and make this the number one site to go to if you need RPG information/examples, it should work.

Is this a good Idea?

Well, once I have learnt some simple php, i am making my own companion site, so i will include a large RPG section.

it's not that nobody wants it, it's just that the boards aren't as active as they used to be.

If anyone did or didn't want it, they'd express their opinion by posting. Anyone else either holds no particular opinion, or is simply inactive.

sorry for the late reply but i've been busy, i think the idea is alright but it could end up like those other sites that aren't visited, i think you'll need quite a few things to catch everyones attention, like maybe some demos and some game engines, tilesets, etc. and who's gonna update it? will you have the time? if you create this i will try to contribute to it,

you should't bother to wait for any replies, because people probably don't think you'll do it so they won't bother, so i say give it to us, we need it

I cant put php on it at the moment, for the imple reason I havent learnt it, but i can make a simple site for the moment, however, some areas of the ste would clash with the forum, such as examples, misc snipits etc, so instead of getting rid of them, i will either link to the page they are on, or just add another link to the file.

just my two cents, and you can be totally opposed, that's fine.

Since you said some sections may clash, what if you used the website as a primary host for the examples and such to upload to it, and then have the person then point to the link on the forums or something.

Idunno, I'm just chucking a totally random idea that popped into my head that I don't even agree with.
I'm just looking for possible ways that might solve the clash or something along those lines.

how are the examples already hosted on some free service?

I think there would be too much overlapping with the site and the forum to be honest.

as it is now, the examples are all hosted on whatever service the poster decides to host it on. I've seen a wide variety, from geocities, to the more-popular tripod. I use my own server to upload everything of mine, but I'm getting near the limit of my space.


lol, i'm not really sure what's going on. you go do whatever it is you feel like doing with your site. if you need me to fix up the boards in any way, just drop me a PM, and I'll see what I can do. If there's any issues that may arrise from the board's design during the process, again, just drop me a detailed and understandable PM, and I'll see what I can do.
