Hairy RPG is a game I have been working on since... October '04 I think. Anyways, it is a heavy-duty RPG. It has many aspects of any RPG up to the SNES level.
(I) FF-style battle system (3 characters on your team)
(A) Commands
(i) Attack - charge up and time your hit.
(ii) Magic - no charge, elemental damage.
(iii) Defend - double chance of evade.
(iv) Move - switch position, or move front/back row.
(v) Items - heal, revive, or cure status effects.
(B) Statistics
(i) Level, experience, money, kills.
(ii) Hit points, attack, speed, and evade.
(iii) ATB bar, charges according to speed.
(iv) Status effects - poison, paralyze, slow, silence.
(v) Weapons - upgrade in shops.
(C) Character and Enemies
(i) Fully animated - stance, attacking, running, defending.
(ii) Boss fights - strategic, tougher battles
(iii) Up to 3 characters, and 3 enemies in a battle.
(iv) Each enemy has own individual stats.
(v) Some enemies have multiple moves/forms.
(II) Field navigation
(A) Switch between characters, each one will examine/react differently to particular objects.
(B) Walk/run - navigate way through mazes, etc.
(C) Converse - meet and converse with many different creatures and characters.
(D) Treasure - find secret items, areas, and accomplish side-quests.
(E) Towns - go to shops, inns, and talk to residents. Certain towns will have different events.
(III) Scenic conversations
(A) Each character has a face, with multiple facial expressions and emotions.
(B) Take place with scenic backgrounds, transparent text boxes, and scrolling-shadowed text.
(C) Dig deep into the storyline, and learn more about the world.
(IV) Miscellaneous
(A) Mini games
(i) Randomly take place, to stray from repetitive game-play.
(ii) Will vary throughout the game (snowboarding, sneaking, shooting, running, etc)
(B) Side quests and secrets
(i) Can gain things to assist you as you progress.
(ii) Find secret items, and parts of the storyline.
(iii) May compile into a multiple-ending idea.

Demos:
Demo 1 download link:
12.22.230.41/Microtech/Host/Games/HairyRPGDemo.zip
Controls:
Arrowkeys - move character around, select commands in menu/battle.
A key - search objects/debris, talk.
S key - hold to speed up message text, or to run. Also the cancel key.
Shift - open up status menu.
Enter - confirmation, will be informed when to use.
Since the release of the demos, I have fixed:
- added text shadowing, so that white text shows up better on lighter backgrounds
- allowed the player to skip long, non-vital conversation scened (such as the beginning one)
- taken the snow out of battles (it was too annoying)
Please download the demo and tell me what you think. Please inform me of any bugs or annoyances, unless I have noted above that it has been fixed. Suggestions and feedback are accepted with gratitude.
Oh yes, I almost forgot. The graphics, music, sounds, and engines were all created by me. The entire game is written in GML.
