I'm just copying directly from the GM community WIP section. First of all I have a website about my game so you should all check it out for more information diona.tk. Here's some basic information about the features. - All original graphics
- All original music composed by Nynne
- Some original sound effects the rest are public domain
- 3-fold story (the main story and 2 substories about the main characters' past)
- Active turn-based battle system (similar to the final fantasy games)
- System of companion animals for some of the characters. These animals can perform certain tasks and can also be called on in battle.
Quick rundown of the storylines (more extensive descriptions can be found on my website). Main Story Laerad and Noadi seeking to find what is killing creatures of magic and causing mad warped new creatures to appear. First Sub-story Noadi's parents Vesa and Taru are seeking the cure to a pestilence that has struck their village. Takes place about 20 years before the main storySecond Sub-story Laerad and Skya see to expose the treachery of a nobleman's wife. Takes place about 60 years before the main storyLet me now what you think and ask any questions you can think of. I'm working on a mini demo at the moment that will mostly be just walking around, npc conversations, a few effects, and maybe the start of the battle and menu systems. Here are a couple small screenshots you can find other larger ones on my website. Weather effects:IA: Due to inactivity, this account and project have been terminated. Please start a new thread should you decide to return and be active.

I love the storyline and the graphics! One thing: What does the title of the game actually mean ? [EDIT] Whoops! I just looked at the website and it says what it means. Anyway this game shows great promise!

Thanks for the compliments on the graphics I'm quite proud of them. I just wish my coding was coming along as well as the graphics, it's slow going right now.
My composer is currently working on some songs and the rough versions he gave me are incredible so there will be beautiful music to go with the graphics and story. I'll post downloads for the music when I start getting the finished pieces.
For those of you who are picky on file size I'm sorry but the music is all in MP3 format so the download won't be tiny, but it'll be worth it.

Well thought I'd give you guys a taste of Shaman's music. This song isn't finished so this isn't the final form that it will be used for the game, in game it will be shorter and looping. Go to diona.tk and head to the download section or if you're lazy the direct link is here. Let me know what you think and I'll pass it on to Nynne.

mmm, Wonderful music for an rpg!!! If you use your own sprites (which are very very good) and nynnes music this will be a VERY VERY good game......
Good luck!
Best regards, Victor Ekdahl

Nice graphics. As victor said, the graphics and music together should work really well.

Thanks, I'm glad you like them. Well I have more music to share with you and some news. First the music, you can either go to diona.tk for the downloads and a little more info or use these direct links. MissingVictory-BeatenOpening themeDaydreamsNow for the news. I have a completed dialog system, and half an inventory system, this means I'm much closer to a demo. Now all that is left is the menu which is easy once I have the inventory, and the battle system. After those are finished it's simply a matter of adding a little story and the demo can be released.

Your game will be absolutely amazing. I can't wait for the demo. How many people did it take to get everything for it: the graphix, the sounds, etc. etc. Surely you must have a 5 person team at least. This will be a good quality game made with GM. Keep up the good work.

Actually I do the majority of the graphics and all of the coding. I wish I had someone helping me with the coding but I'm a bit too much of a perfectionist for that Nynne does the music, with feedback from me and my brother. I have two other assistants, one is an assistant artist though he doesn't do much art mostly just recolors, mostly he's a tester for me, and I have another tester as well. Neither of them are doing much at the moment, they're waiting for the demo so they can bug test it before it's released. Plus I have all my friends on the #pixelation chat room who give me ideas and critique and listen to my constant rambling about Shaman. And I'm always bouncing ideas off my younger brother about music (at least until he leaves for the air force next month). So while my official team isn't big I have a lot of extra people helping me out unofficially. In other news. Shaman is being featured in an online game expo. It was set up for RPG Toolkit games but a few game maker games snuck in because the creator likes game maker. So check it out, Shaman is near the bottom of the page but some of the other games are worth checking out too like the ones from GameStudio 43, Saoghal, and Quintessense. thanian-nation.com/expo/index.php

Well, if you ever need help coding, that's one thing I'm good at, as you can tell from all the scripts and examples on my site. I'm also always... ALWAYS looking for something to code, since I'm bored to death most days. It's totally up to you, though, you seem to be doing a very good job coding on your own (not sure, though, haven't seen much more than just the graphix)

Cool. I'll ask if/when I need help (may not take long ). In other news, shaman is closer to a demo. If you are interested in doing some bug testing prior to the demo release please go here: thanian-nation.com/expo/viewforum.php?f=11

In case you clicked the link in the last post, the expo is now closed so you can't get to it. Also I have all the testers I need. I'm hopefully starting the first round of testing this weekend, as long as no major problem comes up. The first round of testing will probably take between a week and 2 weeks. After that I'd estimate another week or two before round 2 of testing. After all the bug testing and fixing is complete I can add a little bit of story to the game and release a demo. Also new is that I worked on developing a new style of battle sprites for Shaman. Here's what I have so far: In case you aren't familiar with pixel art those little squares of color in the corner is the pallete. Makes it much easier to keep track of what colors I'm using.
