Hello,
I am using 5.0 because of one reason: I can't use multiplayer in 5.1 (I am not registred)
Many, Many, Many, People wants to make mmorpgs......... Is that the reason why mark only lets the registred users, use MP functions??

I don't think it's MMORPGs I think it's multiplayer games in general. From what I know of online programming the multiplayer functions are probably some of the most time consuming parts of GM to program, since it takes time and is and advanced function it maes sense for that to be one of the things Mark charges for. Not to mention if it's a popular feature more people will get the registered version.

While quite a few people seem to be making mmorpgs I've yet to see a decent playable one released. Most of the online gm games I've seen are either online highscore lists or shooters.

Yes, Probably and i think i know why!
Whats easiest? AN MMORPG or a online highscore? LOL
YOu need very much experience to make an MMORPG......... All mp things are very hard....(even if the hardest thing is to get the game run fast enough, lol) so only a few people know how to make one......

Only people who have been usign GM for a long time know how to use the advanced parts. multiplayer is an advanced part, and takes a long time to learn. by the time you are advanced enough to learn mplay, you should have been registered by then. I mean, advanced users simply are so greatful for such a great program, they register.
Besides, $15 is pocket change, even to a 12 year old.
This topic is getting a bit more towards the criticizing GM idea, and going astray from rpg's, so just be warned, keep it related to RPG's or i'll have to close it.

Don't forget using dlls which I really think is what prompts most people to buy it.

oh, forgot about that. that is actually the thing that prompted me to buy it. my game June 6 uses a dll, and i didn't think twice about adding it. then, i went to test it, and it said i wasn't registered. I was way too far to give up, I was too far to step back and undo the dll (I really wanted the dll), and I was too far into gm5.1 to switch back to 5.0, so i just gave in and pulled out $15, handed it to my dad, and said "here, register for me"

no, i don't have a credit card, and my parents don't register for me. I got my dad to use his credit card, and gave him $15 to pay the bill. I don't see why your parents would decline that, they aren't losing squat.

My parents wouldn't let me use their credit card, they're scared of hackers getting their details. I just sent a cheque instead.

Even if your parents don't want to register for you you can always get a money order at the post office. I think international money orders cost a buck or two but that's not too much. No parents needed for that just the cash. You can also send cash through the mail but I wouldn't suggest it, with a parent's check or a money order you can get the money back if the postal service loses it.
