Since 1.6 is taking much longer than expected, I've decided to start releasing weekly builds to demonstrate that we are indeed making progress. I will not document this progress very thoroughly - if at all. These releases are IN DEVELOPMENT. This means that I'm giving you something stable enough to run, although some of the more in-depth features may result in bugs or errors.
If you would like to see faster progress, join our team or invite your friends to join our team!
I'm listing these in reverse chronological order, so the most recent version will be listed at top, while the oldest version will be listed at the bottom. Although I will not skip any version numbers, I may release bug-fixes. These will generally utilize a build number (e.g. 1.5.2.1 instead of just 1.5.2). Some versions may be accompanied by a number in parenthesis. This is the Revision Number in the SVN, if it was committed.
One thing a lot of people have trouble with is the new Event Selector. On the bar at the top, next to the Save As button, is a button called the Event Selector. This is used to add events to Objects. The event system in generally has been redone, and we hope you like the changes. It remains fully compatible with GM 6.
WEEKLY BUILD PRODUCTION HAS CEASED! No, we haven't stopped coding, we've just stopped making weekly builds. Why? Because we're getting ready for LGM 1.6, and we want to surprise you with all the new features! In the meantime, use 1.5.7.1, because it's pretty stable, and just about usable for all intensive purposes.
20071230T1930Z 1.5.7.1 (r220) * Fixed a division-by-zero error when attempting to open a Script with a Tab character. Thanks for "whatthefigneuton" for finding this error. * Removed warnings generated by the earlier memory enhancement. Hopefully Java 7 will add additional help to solving these warnings. * GmStreamEncoder.write methods were changed a little. Heads up to anybody using them externally - e.g. the G-Creator team.

A number of bugs have been noticed in these buttons which have been addressed in 1.5.6)
20071015T1830Z 1.5.4 (r191) * Fixed corruption caused when saving files. * Small GUI List updates to Includes, Constants, and Events. * A few efficiencies and logicalities applied to the internal coding ("comp" package renamed to "compare"). (All 3 team members were on hiatus for the past couple of weeks, thus why very little progress was made)
20071003T0230Z 1.5.3 (r188) * DO NOT USE! This will corrupt your output files. If you must use this, you can avoid this corruption by going into Game Settings, and assigning an invalid Version in the Author information (e.g. a string like "hi", instead of a number), and it will assume the value 100. This works, however, any valid number will cause the output file to corrupt. This is corrected in 1.5.4 * Right click on Library Actions to add them to the list now works * Entirely disabled Drag and Drop for Java 1.5 * Various bug-fixes, efficiencies, UI enhancements, etc. * Fixed an error when loading in GM7 files with a Game Settings Version that is not an integer (uses string instead, now)

NO MORE WEEKLY BUILDS.
That's it. No more. You've had your sneak peaks, but now it's time to close the curtains. Does this mean LGM development has stopped? Hell NO! We're working harder than ever! In fact, we're getting really really close to releasing 1.6. So close, that we want it to be a surprise! So we're not giving you any more previews. We're leaving you with 1.5.7.1, take it or leave it. The next build you'll see will either be a bug-fix or 1.6!!!

It works the same was as GM does. If you want to convert a GMK file into a GM6 file, first you click the Open button, then locate the GMK file. It will take a second to load in your file. From here, you can modify it as you see fit, if you want. After that, you click the Save As button, and choose a good filename, and it will save it as a GM6 file. Simple as that. At this time, it isn't capable of saving as a GMK, although it is expected for later versions, hoping we get permission from YYG.

It's a JAR file. A jar is basically an executable zip file. You need the Java Runtime Environment. Once you have that installed (you can get it from http://java.sun.com/) then you should just be able to double click the jar file and it should run.
Notice, if you download the file and it turns into a zip, just rename it to the .jar extension again.

i get some sort of error when i load my gmk file,
and at the end of the extensive error it says my "GM version is unsupported or my file is corrupt: 701"
any ideas on how to fix?

Please post the entire extensive error. It might look like useless information to you, but to me as a programmer it contains very important information to help me track it down.
Also, did you change GM versions on your file at any point in time? E.g. wrote it in GM6 and then opened it in gM7 and resaved, or the likes? Or did you perhaps use a beta release of GM7?
Also, it may be helpful if you could upload a copy of the file, so that we can take a look at its format to better see why it's complaining and how to support it.
